Holland’s Custom Cabinets was contracted to build a commercial bar and cabinetry for the new cave and tasting area at Granite Lion Cellars in Jamul, California. This unique space, described as a tasting room, presented architectural challenges inherent in a custom new build and renovation project. The floor plan revealed an enlarged, mostly circular or cupola-shaped tasting room, necessitating a cabinetry design that could seamlessly integrate into this non-standard structure.
The primary challenge was designing and manufacturing a functional bar area that included six equal counters and required slab, vertical match grain cabinet doors and drawer fronts. The design needed to address both aesthetics and functionality, incorporating ADA-accessible specifications where required. The client requested a woodgrain laminate finish for the bar area, ensuring durability while maintaining an upscale visual.
Our solution involved creating custom cabinetry with a specific focus on maximizing storage. Utilizing advanced 3D renderings during the design phase was crucial for accurately visualizing the complex, curved footprint and ensuring all components, including the standard soft-close hinges and Movento drawer guides, would fit precisely within the circular room. Holland’s Custom Cabinets delivered precision-crafted, high-quality, six-figure commercial cabinetry designed to enhance the tasting room experience.
